Fencing Camp for Épée Youth Competitive Fencers

A special camp session for our young competitive fencers!!

Our competitive fencers ages 9-12 who can’t make it (or are not eligible yet) for the Elite Summer Camps are welcome to attend this camp week under the supervision of Coach David Abdelmalak.
This camp is specifically designed for the youngest talents to improve their skills, refine techniques, and build a strong foundation for the upcoming competitive season.

Competitive fencers ages 9-12 are encouraged to participate, including Olympia fencers enrolled in the Invitational program.
The youth competitive group will have a training program specifically designed to match your current fencing level. The sessions will include foot-work, drills, situational bouts, mini-private lessons, video analysis, and technical discussions.

Times: 10:00 AM-3:00 PM

A $100.00 deposit is required to secure your spot, which will be deducted from the camp tuition.
The deposit fee is non-refundable (unless the camp is canceled) and is included in your camp cost.

Full payment is due on the first day of the camp, by check or credit card, payable to OLYMPIA FENCING CENTER.
Last-minute registration is possible based on availability.

Our Cambridge location features a free, ample parking available in front of the building and includes:

  • a waiting room equipped with a large fridge and a coffee corner;
  • 13 fencing strips laid over 5000 SF, custom build on foam blocks for shock absorption fencing floor;
  • high-ceiling, large windows, fully air-conditioned space
  • two large unisex changing rooms;
  • a full armory
  • fencing gear/weapons/blades for sale.

Alewife T- Station (Red Line) is a 5-minute walk. The bus station is right down the street. Modern bike path runs throughout the whole city of Cambridge.

What to Expect

Our camp day starts with warm-up exercises and stretches, followed by agility games, footwork, and target practice.
Supervised fencing bouts are followed by a lunch break (around 11:30 AM), during which time we’ll run fencing-related movies on our big screen TV.
The rest of the camp day will consist of fencing basics: correct stances, lunges and parries, the rules, the electrical scoring system, bouting, and round-robin.
The camp week concludes with a fencing tournament, medals will be awarded, and a pizza party.

What you need to bring:

  • Lunch pack, two snacks (we encourage fruits), water bottle.
    Perishable lunches can be stored in our on-premise fridge, so please make sure your lunch is marked up with your child’s name!
  • Shorts, athletic pants, sneakers.
    Long pants are mandatory during bouting, shorts can be worn for stretching, footwork, and games.
  • Extra T-shirt
  • Water bottle

Cancellation Policy

  • 3 weeks prior to the start date: Full refund less $100 admin fee
  • 1 week prior to clinic start date: NO REFUNDS. 50% may be applied to a future camp or class membership.
  • There are no refunds for missed camp days.

If the camp doesn’t meet the required limit of ten people registered and we need to cancel, we are glad to refund your deposit in full.
