What to wear: long pants, athletic shoes, extra T-shirt; bring a water bottle. A filtered water fountain is available for refills.
No dresses/skirts, open-toe shoes, or boots.
We provide the fencing gear. A short trial form is required for liability purposes.

Olympia Fencing Center is a US Fencing Association professional member club, therefore all our students must have at least a basic membership with our national governing body.
USFA Memberships are payable directly to the USFA, via their website.
Get yours here.
USFA memberships must be renewed annually, at the beginning of the fencing season (August 31).
2026 SUMMER CLASS SCHEDULE
Olympia Fencing Center will remain open in both locations in July and August 2026, with a modified summer schedule.
The proposed summer schedule is subject to changes as we receive feedback from our families.
Cambridge
- Musketeer and Youth Learn to Fence classes
No changes, all classes run as scheduled. CLOSED on JULY 4th. - Youth Invitational will run combined with Musketeer and Youth Learn to Fence (Tuesday/Thursday, 4:00-5:00 PM)
- Teens: time change
Classes remain scheduled as normal on Tuesday and Thursday, but run combined with Adult Competitive, starting at 6:00 to 7:30 PM
(Adult Competitive moves down from 7:00 to 6:00 PM)
Saturday Teens class time remains unchanged (11:00 AM). - Youth Competitive: time change
The class (normally, 4:00-6:00) is combined with Elite (normally, 6:00-8:00) and runs from 5:00-7:00 PM
Newton
- No changes in the Musketeer/Youth Learn to Fence/Invitational classes.
CLOSED on JULY 4th. - The Teens and Adult Classes on Monday: time change – moves down to 5:00-6:30 PM.
No changes to Saturday class time. - The Competitive program: time/location change
Newton Competitive classes will be combined with our Cambridge classes in our Cambridge location.
Details: all competitive fencers currently attending Newton on Tuesday, Thursday, 5:00-7:00 PM, and Saturday, 12:30-2:30 PM, are invited to practice during both July and August with our Cambridge crowd on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 5:00-7:00 PM.
If you can’t make it these days, we are glad to freeze your membership for the next two months.
Please email Iulia if you’d like to make any changes to your current membership, including summer holds.
There is a $20.00 fee for all holds.
NOTES
- All Youth Competitive and Elite students must attend at least one week of Elite Camps.
We’re having some great international guests this year, national and international champions.
Register here. - Please contact your private lessons coach to arrange rescheduling for July and August.
- All classes return to the normal schedule on Tuesday, September 1st.
