Olympia’s fencers claimed Gold at the Boston Fencing Club Youth Tournament
The Youth Tournament Series 2 has ended this Sunday, at the Boston Fencing Club in Brighton, MA, with Olympia’s fencers getting most of the Gold medals in all y10-12-14 events, in both epee and foil!
Here are the complete results:
E & Under Mixed Foil
Blas Di Tella – takes 1st place, after all wins in the pools and 15-0, 15-1, 15-4, winning by 15-7 his last DE.
E & Under Mixed Epee
Tony Whelan gets the Bronze, while Oliver Luo comes in 7th place.
Y10 Mixed Foil
Charles Bing – 1st place
Edward Yah – Bronze
Castor Kao- 6th
Rachel Li – 8th
Y10 Mixed Epee
Linden Zheng – Bronze medal
Y12 Mixed Epee
Tony Whelan – 1st place
Jaden Ruan – Bronze medal
Y12 Mixed Foil
Evan Zhang – 1st place – Evan dominated the competition, with five victories in pools and 15-2, 15-3, 14-13 in the semis after which he won, with a clear 15-7, in the last DE.
At the same competition, other six Olympia fencers placed in top 16: Kira Hartness, 9th, Y12 Mixed Epee, while, in foil, Rayken Zhuang, Castor Cao, Matt Ouyang, Charles Bing, while Jeffrey Li placed 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th and, respectively, 16th, in the Y12 Mixed Foil event.
Other out of state competitions:
Dayus Gohel, Bronze medal, Daugherty Youth Cup – SYC/RCC, St. Louis, MO, Y10 Men’s Epee.
Ava Wade, 13th at the same Daugherty Youth Cup – Y12 Women’s Epee
Samuel Du, 11th place at the Durkan Fencing Academy RYC, South Hackensack, NJ.
