Olympia fencers bring Gold and Bronze from the January NAC!
First national competition of the year ended on Monday, in Charlotte, NC.
The event was held at the Charlotte Convention Center and brought together some of the best fencers in the US and abroad.
Division I, Junior, Senior Team and Wheelchair events have gathered a big crowd of fencers to compete for the titles, over four days of fencing.
Here are our students best results:
Jonas Hansen wins the Junior’s Men’s Epee competition, Robert Hondor places 30th in a pool of 254 participants, losing for top 16 by one touch to the winner.
Emily Vermeule takes the Bronze in the Division I Women’s Épée event. This keeps her in #1 position in Junior’s Women Épée, and at 10th place in Senior Women’s epee, in the US.
Jonas also takes 33rd place and young Spencer Vermeule finishes 60th among 329 participants in Div. I Men’s Épée!
In the Juniors Men’s Foil event, Daniel Zhang and Adam Yang, make top 64 among 258 fencers registered: Daniel places 30th while Adam takes 42nd place.
Congratulations to our young Ava Wade, to make top 64 in her first Junior Women’s Épée competition!
At only 13 years old, Ava finishes second in her pool, gets a bye and loses by two touches for top 32, to number 9 seeded.
Congratulations to all!
