Some Of The Best NE Division results at November NAC
We’re back from another exciting fencing adventure, 2014 Louisville National American Cup, Juniors, Cadets, Y14.
As the sport of fencing is continuously growing, over 500 fencers have been registered for Men’s Epee and 350 in the women’s competition.
Olympia Fencing Center has brought along to the prestigious event 13 eligible epeeists, seven girls and six boys.
Y14 Men’s Epee – Xavier Ghazaleh has placed 10th.
Y14 Women’s Epee – Emily Vermeule placed 19th (after losing for top 16 to the Silver medalist).
Cadet Men’s epee – Robert Hondor has exceeded his goals, placing 19th in a competition of 171 registered fencers. (Initially seeded 101, he ended up finishing 1st in his pool – a C2014 rated, Robert lost his 4th DE to an A ranked fencer – best result in the New England Division).
Joshua Wolkoff placed 46th, losing for top 32 by 3 touches, second best New England Division.
Cadet Women’s Epee – Emily Vermeule had another awesome day: only 13 years old and D2014 rated, Emily surpassed many elite fencers – she ended up 45th after losing for top 32 to A rated Canadian Cindy Cao!
Junior Women’s Epee – Emily, again, out of 180 registered, she placed 51, only losing again to an A2014 (seeded 6th after pools) – impressive!
Junior Men’s Epee – Matthew Mansoor, placed 67th out of an impressive number of 250 registered epeeists! A C2014, Matthew’s result was the best for the New England Division.
