D’Artagnan Series Crowns the Winners
The last event of the 2023-24 D’Artagnan Series for Novice fencers took place in our Cambridge location this past Sunday.
Our young fencers ages 8-12 have battled in a fierce, last chance to accumulate the necessary points to win the trophy.
Beside being the first club to offer a free class for everyone, Olympia Fencing Center is the first club in the US to hold an event series for the kids new to fencing, and introduce them to the competitive world.
Anyone is welcome to participate, as soon as they start their fencing journey.
Novice fencing competitions are a vital step in the journey of a fencer. They provide a foundational experience that combines learning, competition, and enjoyment, setting the stage for future success in the sport.
No fencing experience is required, and all equipment is provided.
The competition simulates a real-life event and runs using the Fencing Time software, the same one used for national events. A rolling points system is established by ages and gender. The winner of the series, one boy and one girl in each age group, is crowned as the season’s D’Artagnan, or “D’Artagnette”.
